This February, the Piscataquis Regional Food Center (PRFC) invites the community to gather once again for its 2nd Annual Cold Hands & Warm Hearts Luncheon, a heartwarming fundraiser to fight hunger in the Maine Highlands and celebrate the extraordinary generosity of this year’s Hunger Heroes, the Perkins Family.
Event Details:
When: Saturday, February 28, 2025, at 11:30 AM
Where: Central Hall Commons, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine
The Cold Hands & Warm Hearts Luncheon brings neighbors together around a shared table to support local families facing food insecurity. This year’s event will honor the Perkins Family, whose unwavering commitment to PRFC spans many years and takes many forms—from raising funds to ensure every family has a turkey at Thanksgiving, to surprising The Food Center with hundreds of boxes of cereal, cans of soup, and other much-needed staples whenever the need arises.
Guests are encouraged to bring donations of a can of soup and a new hat, mittens, or gloves to help warm the hands and hearts of the hundreds of households served by The Food Center each week.
“This luncheon is a celebration of community, of showing up for one another in both big and small ways,” said Kelly Sirimoglu, PRFC’s Executive Director. “The Perkins Family embodies that spirit. Their generosity, thoughtfulness, and quiet acts of kindness have made a lasting difference for so many of our neighbors, and we are honored to recognize them.”
Proceeds from the event will directly support PRFC’s programs, including food distribution and community partnerships that address the unique challenges of food insecurity in rural Maine.
Tickets are available online at: https://www.prfoodcenter.org/warmhearts. Seating is limited, so reserve your spot today!
