As Thanksgiving approaches, households across our county are preparing to gather around their tables and share in the joy of a traditional Thanksgiving meal. For most of us, this cherished holiday simply wouldn't be complete without the comforting presence of a roasted turkey and heaping bowls of stuffing and mashed potatoes gracing our tables. However, for many of our neighbors, celebrating the holidays can be a daunting challenge.

In 2023, the Food Center experienced a 100% increase in the number of families served. On average, 325 households now visit the Food Center twice a month, seeking essential provisions such as fresh produce, canned goods, cooking supplies, eggs, milk, and meats. This means that every month, we distribute a substantial 650 loaves of bread, 2,600 cans of tuna and chicken, and over 6,000 pounds of fresh produce to those in need.

While we are fortunate to receive fresh rescue foods from local retailers in our area, we depend on the generosity of caring individuals like you to continue offering this vital service to members of our community who are experiencing food insecurity.
We are asking for donations of frozen turkeys, gravy, stuffing, and baking ingredients to help 350 families put a
Thanksgiving meal on their holiday table. Can we count on you for support toward reaching this critical goal? Any donation, no matter how large or small, will make a difference.
Your remarkable kindness and generosity will have a profound and positive impact on the lives of countless individuals right here in the Maine Highlands region. We are deeply grateful for your support.
