Dover-Foxcroft, Maine — The Piscataquis Regional Food Center (PRFC) is gearing up for its first annual Thanksgiving Drive-Through Distribution, scheduled for Wednesday, November 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Food Center in Dover-Foxcroft.

This year, PRFC expects to serve 350 Piscataquis County households, ensuring that families across the region can enjoy a hearty and meaningful holiday meal.

To make it all possible, PRFC has launched its Thanksgiving Donation Drive—inviting community members, businesses, and service groups to contribute in several ways:

  • Donate funds or frozen turkeys: PRFC’s Turkey Club campaign is underway, helping raise funds to purchase holiday foods and support distribution costs. Donations can be made online at www.prfoodcenter.org/thanksgiving. Frozen turkey donations are gratefully accepted Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. at the Food Center.

  • Volunteer to pack: Join PRFC staff and volunteers on Monday, November 17, to help pack boxes of Thanksgiving food for distribution.

  • Volunteer to distribute: On Wednesday, November 19, PRFC needs volunteers willing to work outside, loading food into vehicles during the drive-through event.

“At PRFC, we believe everyone deserves to celebrate the holidays with good food and good company,” said Kelly Sirimoglu, Executive Director of PRFC. “We couldn’t do this without the generosity and heart of our community, it truly takes all of us to make Thanksgiving happen for so many local families.”

PRFC is still working to confirm whether turkeys will be available for all households this year, making financial and turkey donations especially critical.

Community members, businesses, and organizations interested in donating or volunteering can visit www.prfoodcenter.org or email info@prfoodcenter.org for more information.

“This event is one of the most powerful examples of community care we see all year,” added Sirimoglu. “Whether you donate a turkey, make a gift, or lend a hand, you’re helping make Thanksgiving brighter for a neighbor in need.”
