Food Access & Assistance

There are lots of great places and ways to get healthy food in the Piscataquis region, from community food pantries, farm stands and farmers' markets to local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs and neighborhood "share sheds."

Whether you need food assistance or want to buy more of your food locally, PRFC can help you get connected! You can help PRFC, too, by letting us know about local food sources that aren't on our list. Thank you!

Includes Commodity Supplemental Food Distributions and Special Food Distribution Events

A great resource for help accessing food and exploring Maine's food systems and outlets.

Community sharing sheds: share your excess seeds/produce and take what you need.

A community sharing space where you can:

  • share excess seeds/seedlings and produce

  • pick up FREE items

Visit the Share Shed today, located outside the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Piscataquis County's office in Dover-Foxcroft, next to the courthouse.

If you visit the Share Shed, we would love to hear & see how your experience is. Tag photos on social media with #ShareShedPiscataquis and/or tag @prfoodcenter on Instagram.
