Last Saturday, I went apple picking with my family in my great grandparents’ orchard. An orchard is where there are lots of apple trees. It was so much fun! I got to climb the ladder and pick my own. We put them in white bags. Apples are sometimes sold by what are called pecks and half pecks, but in the grocery store they are sold by how much they weigh.
Apples come in lots of different kinds. These are called MacIntosh. They are softer to eat. You can make lots of things with apples. My Nana makes apple crisp, and my Auntie eats them with peanut butter on them. (That’s a really good snack idea!) They are very good for you, too. They have Vitamin C which helps you not get sick all the time. And apples are a way to eat your colors of the rainbow!
I had so much fun that day. Did you know there are places you can go to pick apples with your family, too, if you don’t have an orchard of your own? I bet you would have a lot of fun, too!
