Food on the Move!

What does it mean to deliver to rural communities on a rural route? Besides the wild game of avoiding pot holes and frost heaves, making deliveries to rural neighbors means an increased value in human connection. Last month, Bree, Community Food Services Assistant and Merrilee (that's me!), the Community Food Services Coordinator got to take the cooler van for a spin during a particularly big delivery day. Back to School Planning Tips and Tricks with Whitney

"What are some back-to-school meal planning ideas/tips for kid friendly meals/snacks?" First, let’s nail down what a balanced meal or snack means. Foodcenter Spotlight: our new VISTA Curt

Hi everyone! My name is Curt Persinger and I am the new Goodwill Americorps Vista Volunteer for PRFC. I am originally from the Delaware/Pennsylvania area and have been living in this area for the past 20 years. I will be helping with CSFP distribution, fund raising, community service as well as furthering the PRFC's commitment to the community. I know the area well geographically, but I also want to get to know the area's needs as far as food insecurity, those being affected and being able to help them one at a time. Hunger is a global and national problem, but it is at the local level where we can do the most good. In closing, with the help of the dedicated and amazing staff and volunteers

Our Mission is to improve food security in the Piscataquis Region by connecting people with sources of healthy food.
